You choose the level of support from RISE. You want to set up and manage databases yourself? No problem on our platform - you get access to so-called operators for self-service, including monitoring and reporting. Access control & Identity and Access Management
The use of Identity and Access Management (IAM) in modern operating environments is not an optional security measure, but an essential component of ensuring adequate access control and security - especially in containerised environments at the forefront of technology.
As an experienced manufacturer and operator of national and enterprise-wide IAM solutions, we know first-hand that the use of an IAM can significantly reduce the risk of unauthorised access, data breaches or other security incidents. IAM is the only effective way to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Our operations focus on providing consistent levels of security from the infrastructure to the applications that run on it. The close collaboration between the operations and application teams extends to joint architectural decisions, where no detail is overlooked. For example, applications built by RISE do not store authentication data/tokens directly in the source code, but in specially secured vaults (secrets management).
High availability with health checks and self-healing
Today's business applications must be up and running around the clock. They must run without interruption, regardless of a technical failure, a software update, negative natural events or security incidents. In modern heterogeneous system environments with infrastructure layers and a high degree of automation, self-healing of components is possible.
Self-healing is a feature of our container platform. When a containerised application or application component fails, it is redeployed to maintain the desired state. Application health checks allow our platform to detect failing components and redirect user requests to components that are still working.
Complexity reduction with Service Mesh
Microservices are a way to make software easier to manage and scale. We use a service mesh to make communication between microservices easier and more secure.
We also offer customers the option of using a service mesh as part of our platform services. Its use eliminates the complexity of directly integrating libraries or third-party components into developed services. Access via service proxies makes access to a service much more independent and flexible.
Developers are no longer forced to adapt source code just because a required component needs to be replaced. When we also shift dependencies to the platform level with a service mesh, developers can really focus on implementing the business logic.
Service meshes are not essential. However, a service mesh becomes increasingly important as the number and complexity of micro-services in an architecture increases - but our solution can grow with our customers' needs.

Fast root cause analysis is only possible with access to a complete picture - a single point of truth. A proven software engineering principle that RISE has long implemented in its operating environments. We aggregate availability information and metrics from multiple monitoring tools into application and team-specific dashboards.
The benefits of having a single source of truth for all monitoring information are obvious. With all data stored in one central location and accessible to all teams, everyone is on the same page. No information can be withheld from anyone. As a result, valuable information can be shared more quickly and with less administrative overhead. A significant advantage for efficient operations and rapid root cause analysis.
Interoperability with telematics services
As a manufacturer of a large number of authorised product types for the German telematics infrastructure, RISE offers the use of central software components for all RISE TI and security products for the telematics infrastructure.
This allows for maximum synergy between all RISE solutions. Proven technologies for our IaaS, PaaS and SaaS offerings form the future-proof basis of our telematics interoperability. Our experience in setting up and operating telematics services, such as the central identity provider service (IDP) for 80 million German insured persons, is also available to our customers - and with RISE TIaaS (Telematics Infrastructure-as-a-Service) we are a provider of one of the most modern SaaS solutions for the German healthcare sector.
