RISE launches the second phase of its joint project with several private health insurers with the rollout of the ePA
Following the successful connection to the telematics infrastructure (TI) of 11 private health insurance companies (PKVs) and the provision of e-prescriptions (E-Rezept), RISE is now moving on to the next stage of expansion with the implementation of electronic patient records (ePA).
With the start of the second project phase, RISE and the participating private health insurance companies (PKV) are consistently continuing on the path they have chosen. While the first phase laid the necessary technical and organizational foundations with the implementation of the TI app and central services such as the health ID (GesundheitsID), online check-in, and e-prescriptions (E-Rezept), the focus is now on implementing the ePA as the central application of the telematics infrastructure.
The aim is to provide private health insurance policyholders with a secure, user-friendly, and comprehensive digital file in which they can view, manage, and share their health data with doctors at any time. This will make the ePA a key tool for private health insurance policyholders, offering greater transparency, self-determination, and better coordination in medical care.
"With the successful completion of the first project phase, we have created a solid foundation for many private health insurance companies with the TI connection and e-prescriptions," says Klaus Klenner, head of the private health insurance program at RISE. "Now it's important to take the next step in phase 2 and make the ePA available as the centerpiece of digital patient care for many privately insured individuals, thereby offering real added value in the form of ePA functions. As RISE, we can draw on extensive experience gained from successfully connecting several private health insurance companies to the ePA. During the project phase, private health insurance companies benefit from efficient and standardized implementation combined with clear scheduling and a fair pricing model. The proven model of joint project management can be applied to further expansion stages and the introduction of additional functional modules."
