RISE successfully connects 11 private health insurance companies to the telematics infrastructure in a joint project
„By establishing a joint implementation project with 11 insurance companies, we are creating a successful model for future innovation projects with private health insurers.“
In a joint project, RISE successfully implemented the technical connection to the telematics infrastructure (TI) for 11 private health insurance companies (PKVs). This created the conditions necessary for PKV policyholders to use e-prescriptions.
In just eight months, the ambitious project was implemented on time and within the planned timeframe. As part of the project, RISE provided the central TI app, which includes the authenticator module of the sectoral IDP. This allows insured persons of the participating private health insurance companies to register for the Health ID – a prerequisite for using many digital health applications.
In addition, the TI app includes online check-in, which allows insured persons to conveniently register at doctors' offices, as well as the option to use e-prescriptions, either via the RISE e-prescription module or via the gematik e-prescription app.
Dr. Christian Schanes, member of the RISE management board, explains: “With the successful provision of the TI connection, we are laying the foundation for the further development and customization of TI services in the private health insurance sector. By establishing this in a joint implementation project with 11 insurance companies, we are creating a successful model for future innovation projects with private health insurers.”
The next step for private health insurers has already been defined: the focus is now on introducing electronic patient records (ePA) in order to further improve the quality of medical care for insured persons and make the associated processes more efficient and simpler.
