The RISE Online-Check-In application (OCI) for Allianz

Privately insured persons have a need for easy and secure access to e-prescriptions. Until now, this has been difficult to achieve without an eGK. On the initiative of the PKV Verband der Privaten Krankenversicherung e.V. (Private Health Insurance Association), Research Industrial Systems Engineering (RISE) Forschungs-, Entwicklungs- und Großprojektberatung, the pioneer APKV and manufacturers of practice management systems have developed an innovative and, above all, convenient solution that does just that. Privately insured patients can now use their digital identity to access their electronic health record and e-prescriptions without having to use their electronic health card (eHC).

Using the RISE Online Check-in Application (OCI), which interacts seamlessly with the sectoral IDP's digital identity (RISE-ID), the first Allianz private policyholder was able to experience this useful and natural process in real time this week. He was able to redeem his e-prescription at his pharmacy easily and immediately. RISE-OCI offers the significant added value of making the disclosure of policyholder data to the doctor more convenient, more secure, more time-saving and more intuitive. This will soon become part of everyday life.

This development is a real game changer for privately insured people on the way to the digitalisation of the German healthcare system. Discretion and critical high security can be combined with ease of use.

The use of the insured person's digital identity for verification, without the need for a physical electronic health card (eGK), simplifies processes for people. This step not only enables secure data exchange between the doctor's system and the insurance company, but also makes it much easier for the pharmacy to dispense and invoice the medication. It sets new (benefit) standards in healthcare processes and promotes good user-friendliness and a high level of service, despite the important and necessary high level of IT security.
